Derbyshire Premier & County Cricket Leagues

Ockbrook take the title...

...as their 27-pointer over Alfreton makes Sandiacres's similar effort against Ilkeston to no avail, despite Ryan McFadyean's new League record bowling figures. At the bottom, Aston are relegated, leaving one of Ilkeston, Rolls Royce and Quarndon to join them; it will be a tense last day. Elvaston and Matlock are promoted to the Premier as they both win and their rivals all slip up; at the bottom Tutbury join Staveley in Division 2 next year. A day of shocks in Division 2, sees Pilsley gain their first win of the season against Cutthorpe, Nutbrook lose to Spondon and Belper lose to Duffield; Eckington and Shipley both win to go clear at the top. Ambergate go back to the top of Division 3 but could still be caught by both South Wingfield and Sandiacre, and they are still under threat from another three teams. All to play for on the last day!

The Premier Cup Final was won comfortably by Caythorpe, who beat Chesterfield by 10 wickets at Raynesway. Clifton retained the Marston's Smooth Trophy with a three-wicket win against Ticknall at Staveley. Langley Mill had a comfortable win over Elvaston 2nds in the Ace Sports Bayley Cup Final at Mickleover, while Belper Meadows 2nds took the Benz Bavarian Wright Cup at Ockbrook, with a thrilling win over Aston-on-Trent 2nds. The James Harwood Cup Final at Walton-on-Trent last week was won by Codnor who beat Uttoxeter in a low-scoring encounter. Hilton 2nds were the first trophy winners of the season, beating Marstons to win the Harry Lund Cup at Derby Congs.
