Marehay sealed the Play Straight Division One title with a comfortable win over relegated Ambergate, the gap to runners-up Alfreton remaining at 21pts after the latter easily beat Quarndon. Clifton clinched third place after thrashing Ilkeston Rutland.
Cutthorpe finished well clear of the rest in ‘the follow on’ Division Two with Ockbrook’s second-string claiming the runners-up spot. 2nd XI’s are not able to compete in Division One therefore it will be confirmed that third-placed Staveley Welfare will return to the top flight of the County League. Staveley began the day four points shy of Aston but a winning-draw against relegated Denby 2nds was enough for them to overhaul Aston who lost against Sandiacre Town 2nds. Wirksworth & Middleton are the other relegated side.
In Technical Turf Division Three West Hallam finished 66pts clear of the rest but rain ended their match against Lullington Park 2nds prematurely. The race for the two remaining promotion places was won by Alrewas and Trentside with Walton being the unlucky side to finish fourth. Walton slipped up at Shipley Hall while Alrewas beat Hilton and Trentside got the better of a draw against relegated Clay Cross. At the bottom A & B 2nds and Heanor Town fought out a draw, the latter hanging on with one wicket left to deny A & B the victory that would have saved them from the drop. Surviving to fight another day in Division Three are Brailsford who clung on for an important draw at Derby Congs.
